Client-Side Audio Engineering & Real-Time Media Streams

Capturing quick screen demonstrations or generating focus soundscapes has historically required installing bloated Electron desktop software or subscribing to SaaS video platforms that ingest and monetize user recordings on third-party cloud infrastructure.

OmniTools leverages modern standardized browser specifications. The Audio Synthesizer directly commands your operating system's audio output card through the W3C Web Audio API. Rather than streaming compressed MP3 audio loops from a CDN, audio samples are synthesized programmatically in real-time using mathematical trigonometric functions and 3-pole filter approximations for pink and brown noise.

Native MediaRecorder Architecture

When capturing display output via navigator.mediaDevices.getDisplayMedia(), pixel frames and audio PCM packets are routed directly to the native browser VP9 / Opus hardware encoder. The resulting video stream is accumulated into an in-memory Blob array. When you finish recording, you export the exact file directly to your downloads folder without a single packet crossing the public internet.

Sub-Millisecond Interval Accuracy

Our stopwatch and Pomodoro tools utilize high-resolution differential timestamps (Date.now() deltas) rather than naive cumulative ticks, eliminating interval drift caused by browser event loop scheduling. Auditory notifications utilize pure sine oscillator arpeggios that play smoothly even on low-spec hardware without audio file loading delays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Never. The recording takes place entirely inside your browser's native MediaRecorder API. The video or audio file never leaves your computer's RAM until you choose to download it to your hard drive.

Yes! When the browser prompts you to select a screen, window, or tab, make sure to check the "Share audio" checkbox in the system dialog. The browser will then multiplex the system audio with the video stream.

White noise has equal power across all frequency bands (like TV static). Pink noise decreases by 3 dB per octave, mimicking natural rain sounds. Brown noise decreases by 6 dB per octave, providing a deep, rumbling low-end frequency profile (like a distant waterfall or jet engine) preferred for deep concentration.

Yes. As long as your browser window is open and the audio context was activated by your initial click, the Web Audio chime will ring aloud even when you are reading articles or working in another application tab.
